Red matrimonial manta with 9 vertical figured bands in red, white and green alternating with 11 stripes of various colours. Central band is 4.5cm wide. A multicoloured 4.0cm fringe borders all 4 sides. No terminal band at selvage; fabric is cut, then raw edges stabilized with 3 rows of machine stitching. Manta is without a cental seam. Designs are produced by use of complimentary warps; reversed patterns are visible on opposite side of manta. Fringe sewn around edges is woven from brightly coloured acrylic yarns (filling) held by fine red (warp) yarns. Acrylic yarns used in manta and fringe are given additional twist before weaving. Fabric count (warp x filling) 28 x 10 yarns/cm.
