Diamond shaped crazy quilt block with velvet and other silk patches. Dark brown circular velvet center patch features a painted swan swimming near a waterlily. Other patches are of velvet, satin and other silk fabrics, and a piece of 5.5 cm wide grey moire ribbon. All seams are enhanced with variations of blanket, cretan, and fan stitching in variously coloured silk threads. Block is worked on thin light brown woolen wadding and grey linen or cotton base.
