About 23 miles west of Fort McMurray: Northwest of Athabasca River, large patterned fen on top of Thickwood Hills. Intermediate rich fen with Carex limosa, C. lasiocarpa, C. chordorrhiza, Drepanocladus sendtneri, D. vernicosus, D. lapponicus, Tomenthypnum nitens and Chamaedaphne. Some areas and strings have abundant Sphagnum teres and S. subsecundum. Ombrotrophic bog areas present.
