Growing on hummocks in slough in sagebrush steppe. Heavily grazed by cattle. Occuring with (Antennaria arcuata), A. Microphylla, Poaceae, Zygadenus sp., Aster, Potentilla fruticosa, Haplopappus, Orthocarpus luteus, Achillea millefolium.
