Baxter reveled and excelled in portraiture and it is thought that the portrait of this famous character is really a depiction of six year old Lady Rachel Evelyn Russell taken from a painting by Landseer. Russell was the daughter of John Russell the sixth Duke of Bedford and later became the wife of Lord James Wandesford Butler.
